Clare Wigney’s practice interrogates the reproduction of the physical world into images and objects.
Their work tends to reduce or nullify the information and function of an image or object.
Wigney negotiates the fogginess between concrete representations, and the fluidity of lived experience, memories and dreams.
Their work is concerned with constructed realities, and ideas of imitation, conspiracy and intrigue. Central to all of this is creation, humour and poetry.
“in this endless process of reproduction, we may measure the thickness of our own mirages”. (Luigi Ghirri)
Clare Wigney also makes books through Sydney based small publishing house, Mahon Books.
